About us

Terra Viva is a place in the making, shaped by people who believe that living well starts with living responsibly.

We are building the foundations of a community grounded in ecological care, shared values, and practical approaches to wellbeing. Our focus is on reconnecting everyday life with nature, through practices that support balance, health, and awareness.

Terra Viva is envisioned as a space where people live, learn, and gather in respectful relationship with nature. As the project grows, we aim to host retreats, workshops, and events centered on wellness, reflection, and sustainable living.

In a world that has grown increasingly disconnected from its natural roots, Terra Viva offers a way back: not by rejecting modern life, but by re-anchoring it in what is essential — community, nature, and conscious living.

Vision & Mission

Vision

We imagine a world where people live with greater balance — drawing from human experience and thoughtful innovation to support wellbeing, cooperation, and care for the natural world. A world where communities can thrive through shared responsibility, mutual respect, and a more conscious ways of living.

Mission

Our mission is to develop a community and retreat center that brings together traditional knowledge and modern tools in a grounded, accessible way. We explore regenerative approaches to living, working, and sharing resources, while cultivating a lifestyle that stays attentive to rhythms of nature and supports both individual and collective wellbeing.

Community
Cooperative housing

We welcome people who feel aligned with Terra Viva’s vision and mission and who are open to being part of an on-site community developed through a cooperative housing model. The intention is to create a shared living environment rooted in responsibility, participation, and long-term stewardship.

Our goal is to co-create with nature, never to exploit it. We envision a community that might grow up to 10–20 people in the future. The idea is to start small and grow organically, in coherence with the land, the project’s capacity, and the level of commitment of those involved. Growth is not the objective; alignment and sustainability are.

Alongside the on-site cooperative community, we are also cultivating an online network. This wider circle allows us to share our approach to living, offer programs and services, and connect with people around the world who resonate with the project.

Retreat Center
Association

Our main structure is envisioned as a Community Retreat Center — a space designed for gatherings, learning, and shared experience. It will serve as a living environment where ecological awareness, personal development, and community life come together in a practical and accessible way.

The Retreat Center will be run by an independent association. This association is responsible for organizing activities, managing operations, and developing programs that allow the project to financially sustain itself. Its purpose is to create, host, and facilitate experiences aligned with the vision of Terra Viva.

It is important to distinguish between the association and the on-site cooperative housing community.

People may become members of the association — contributing to activities, governance, or specific projects — without living on-site. Likewise, the cooperative housing model, which structures residential life on the land, remains legally and operationally distinct from the association.

The center aims to host a range of activities that may include:

•  Meditation, yoga, and breathwork
•  Bodywork, water-based practices, and holistic therapies
•  Movement, music, and conscious dance
•  Permaculture and regenerative living practices
•  Plant-based nutrition and mindful cooking
•  Ethical and cooperative technology initiatives
•  Workshops, courses, and cultural events
•  Seasonal gatherings and community celebrations
•  Educational and intergenerational programs in connection with local communities
•  Online offerings and a wider global community network

The specific focus and programming will evolve in response to the people involved in the association and retreat center. Terra Viva is intended to be shaped not only by its founding vision, but also by the skills, experience, and contributions of those who choose to participate — whether as residents, members of the association, volunteers, or part of the wider community.

Ways of getting involved

Terra Viva is a living project, and there are different ways to walk this path with us — depending on your level of commitment, availability, and resonance.

Co-Founder / Community Member

Long-term builder and steward of the vision.

This path is for those who feel deeply aligned with Terra Viva’s mission and want to actively co-create its development — both structurally and as part of the on-site cooperative housing community.

Community members may choose to live on-site full time or participate in a hybrid model — sharing their time between Terra Viva and another location. What matters most is commitment, alignment, and shared responsibility.

As a co-founder or community member, you participate in shaping culture, long-term direction, and daily life. You are helping lay the foundations of a regenerative living model rooted in stewardship, collaboration, and care.

Donor

Foundational supporter of the vision.

Terra Viva is being developed through an independent association that runs the Retreat Center and its activities. At this early stage, financial contributions are essential to secure land, build infrastructure, and establish a sustainable operational base.

As a donor, you directly support the creation of a space dedicated to ecological harmony, conscious community, and ethical innovation.

Your contribution helps turn vision into tangible reality.

Association Member

Active participant in the Retreat Center’s mission.

The Retreat Center is run by an independent association responsible for organizing activities and sustaining the project financially. Association members may participate in assemblies, votes, and specific initiatives — without needing to live on-site.

Volunteer

Hands-on contributor.

Volunteers offer time, skills, and practical support for specific projects or initiatives. This role is time-bound or task-based and does not include governance responsibility.

Community Friend

Ally and supporter.

Community Friends resonate with the vision and wish to stay connected. They may attend events, share the project, contribute occasionally, or simply support from afar — without formal commitment.
